Founded in 1976 by John Rumble, our company initially provided pesticide application to agricultural clients in California. Over the subsequent four decades, Ferrosafe’s work has encompassed the full scope of pesticide operations, eventually concentrating our work in the rail industry.
As Rumble Spray Inc., the company began servicing railroads in 1994. With rail customers as the focus of our business for over 20 years, RSI added a mechanical division in the latter part of 2015 and changed the company name to “Ferrosafe” to reflect the expanded scope of services we can now offer. Our mechanical division has its own history of servicing Class I rail systems. Examples of work we have performed include clearing & spraying of crossings and main lines, mowing and trimming of railroad properties for city ordinance compliance, and tree trimming and felling.
Our crews are equipped for both on and off track work, enabling us to choose among a variety of solutions in order to deliver the most efficient solution based on customer objectives.
In 2015, Ferrosafe’s combined spray and mechanical division’s performed work in nearly 30 states, reaching from Washington across to Wisconsin and down to Mississippi. We strive to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us and to provide the highest quality service possible. For each vegetation management project, we begin by examining the full scope of each customer’s objectives, from applicable regulations and customer policies to specific vegetation control requirements. This comprehensive understanding enables us to create a work plan that minimizes or eliminates impact to the customer’s operations and ensures strict compliance with customer specifications.
Our crews are equipped for both on and off track work, enabling us to choose among a variety of solutions in order to deliver the most efficient solution based on customer objectives. Many of our work areas are heavily trafficked by freight and Amtrak service, so we are quite comfortable operating heavy equipment near an active track in a manner that maintains safe operating distances and avoids any risk of track fouling.
We resist the belief that bigger is always better, and we seek to grow only as we can provide the same service in the future for our clients that we have in the past. Over the years, this practice has afforded us the blessing of strong and enduring client relationships that are mutually beneficial.
Ferrosafe provides commercial vegetation management services to the transportation and industrial sectors. With operations offices located in Washington, California, Alabama and Arizona and other assets strategically positioned based on customer needs, we can provide service across North America.
Ferrosafe strives to differentiate itself in the industry by approaching vegetation management with a customer-oriented, flexible perspective that complements operational capabilities with strategic planning.
